The Slung Back Chair was the first conceived of the felt items as it provided a useful context for the dovetail dowel joint which I had come up with in order to hold a back rest in place.

The design holds the principles for the range which is that it is modest and yet stylish and in parts beautiful. It has a Scandinavian feel to it due to the wood colour and contemporary look. 
 The materials being used are all sustainable ,and although I have a care for efficiency it is not the driving consideration. The choice of using Ash hardwood means for a pale and clean fresh image which brightens a room and then contrasts well with the deep mottling grey that the felt brings.  The Felt used is 100% wool felt and gives the main sense of identity to the product as it has a luxury feel and offers great customisability with colour choices. The lack of a seat cushion is a deliberate choice to expose the solid wood planks grain and also apply principles similar to Hans J Wegner who had a great respect for the softness that could be created with wood.
